Buenos días!! Hoy comparto con vosotros una de las bodas más bonitas que he visto nunca, unos novios guapísimos, un entorno paradisíaco y rodeados de sus amigos y su familia más íntima. De ensueño. Conocí a la preciosa novia Ashley meses antes de mi propia boda. Ambas habíamos elegido el mismo vestido, el precioso modelo pérgola de Pronovias, y a partir de ahí empezamos a compartir ideas e inquitudes sobre el propio vestido, sobre la boda… Nos dimos cuenta de que tenemos mucho en común, y nos hemos hecho grandes amigas!! Así que sabía que esta boda iba a ser espectacular y muy especial, pero cuando ví las fotos no pude evitar emocionarme. Ashley es guapísima, y cuidó cada detalle del vestido y de sus accesorios. Cuando planeas una boda íntima puedes poner mucha más atención a cada detalle, y eso se nota y mucho en el resultado. No me enrollo más os dejo con las fotos, y que la propia Ashley os cuente los detalles del gran día. Que disfrutéis!
Good morning! Today I share with you one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen. With a gorgeous couple, a paradise location and surrounded by their closer friends and family, this wedding is a dream come true. I met the beautiful birde Ashley months before my own wedding. Both had chosen the same dress, the beautiful pergola Pronovias model, and from there we started to share ideas and inquietude of the dress, the matching accessories, the wedding … We realized that we are so alike, and we have become very great friends! So before seeing the pictures I knew that this wedding was going to be spectacular and very special, but when I saw the photos I was spechless. Ashley is gorgeous, and she took care of every detail of the dress and accessories. Also, when you are planning an intimate wedding you can put a lot more attention to detail. And it really worth. No os perdáis la romántica historia de como se prometió la pareja. Brendan se declaró en Nochebuena, el que siempre ha sido mi día favorito del año. Antes de cenar con mi familia, nos llevó a Candy Cane Lane, una calle residencial de nuestra ciudad conocida porque sus casas están llenas de luces de Navidad. Cuando llegamos todos los jardines estaban todas iluminados y sonaban villancicos por todas partes. La verdad es que era el lugar más romántico de toda la ciudad el día de Nochebuena. Dimos un paseo por los jardines, parando para tomar fotos de vez en cuando. Justo cuando pensaba que estábamos a punto de irnos, Brendan me pidió que pararse en los escalones de la entrada del Ayuntamiento, para hacerme una foto. Él tomó varias fotos de mí, la verdad es que me hizo pasar mucha vergüenza. Vio a una pareja caminando junto a nosotros y les preguntó si iban a tomar una foto de los dos en los escalones de la entrada. El marido amablemente tomó fotos de nosotros y cuando estaba a punto de devolvernos la cámara, Brendan le preguntó si no le importaría tomar una sola foto más. En este momento, metió la mano en el bolsillo de su chaqueta y sacó una caja de color rojo. En ese momento todo mi mundo se detuvo. Fue una propuesta bella, romántica y tan bien pensada!! Y lo mejor de todo es que tengo ese momento inmortalizado para siempre!
The proposal… Brendan proposed on what has always been my favorite day of the year, Christmas Eve. Before having dinner with my family, we drove to Candy Cane Lane, which is a residential street in our city that is known for having the most festive Christmas lights on the houses. When we arrived, the sun was just setting and not all of the houses were lit up yet. We stayed for a little while until Brendan was convinced that we could see better Christmas lights at the Edmonton Legislature Building Grounds. When we arrived all of the grounds were lit up with so many Christmas lights and Christmas music was playing. This truly had to be the most romantic place to be in our city on Christmas Eve. We strolled through the grounds for a while, stopping to take pictures now and then. Just as I thought we were about the leave, Brendan asked me to stand on the front steps of the Legislature Building for a picture. He took several photos of me, standing there awkwardly by myself. Brendan saw a couple walking near us and asked them if they would take a picture of the two of us on the front steps. The husband kindly took pictures of us and as he was about to hand us the camera, Brendan asked if he wouldn’t mind taking just one more photo. At this moment, Brendan reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a ruby red box. This is when my whole world stopped. It was such a beautiful and clever proposal. I am so thankful that my husband remembered to pack the camera.
“Antes de prometernos, cuando hablábamos de nuestra boda de ensueño, siempre nos imaginábamos una boda al aire libre y en la playa. Nuestras vacaciones más memorables y románticas fueron en Costa Rica y pensamos que sería genial celebrar nuestra boda con nuestros seres queridos en un clima cálido y con impresionantes vistas al mar. Al principio no buscábamos una boda íntima, pero si que sabíamos que nuestra lista de invitados sería sustancialmente menor que si tuviéramos la típica boda al lado de casa. En las primeras etapas de la planificación, tengo que admitir, que fue decepcionante ver como algunos de nuestros amigos y familia cercana no podían acompañarnos a República Dominicana. Sin embargo, a medida que nos acercamos a la fecha, los sentimientos de decepción se disiparon, y hizo que nos sintieramos realmente agradecidos con las personas que sí nos iban a acompañar. Estoy tan contenta de que terminamos teniendo una boda íntima! Siendo realistas, con una boda grande yo no habría sido capaz de poner pensamiento y esfuerzo en cada detalle de la boda, que fue lo que hizo que el día fuera tan especial”
“Before we got engaged, whenever we would talk about our dream wedding, it always involved the outdoors and the beach. Our most memorable and romantic holiday had been to Costa Rica and we thought about how nice it would be to celebrate our marriage with the ones we love in a warm climate, with stunning ocean views. We did not necessarily plan the destination wedding because we wanted it to be more intimate with less guests, but we knew that our guest list would be substantially smaller than if we were to have a typical ‘big’ wedding at home. In the first stages of planning, I will admit, it was disappointing that some of our close friends and family would not be able to make the trip to the Dominican for the wedding; however, as we got closer to the wedding date, those feelings of disappointment dissipated, and we became even more thankful for those people that were going to be there with us. I am so glad that we ended up having an intimate wedding. Realistically, I know that if we had a big wedding, I would not have been able to put as much thought and effort into every detail of the wedding that made our day so special.”
Los novios decidieron hacer el “First look” algo que se está haciendo muy famoso en Estados Unidos… y también en España. Consiste en que los novios se vean a solas, antes de la ceremonia. Suelen ser momentos muy intensos y emotivos, y si no atentos a como lo describe Ashley y a las preciosas fotografías!A first look is a moment staged and set up by a wedding photographer for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. “Sin duda uno de los momentos más emocionantes del día fue el “First Look”. Durante meses antes de la boda, no podía decidir si sería una buena idea hacerlo. Yo siempre imaginé ver a mi futuro marido, por primera vez vestida de novia, de pie en el altar mientras caminaba hacia él. No quería arriesgarme a perder ese sentimiento especial, y temía que el vernos primero fuera a restarle emoción. Sin embargo, también nos gustaba la idea de vernos por primera vez antes de la ceremonia ya que nos daría algun tiempo para vernos a solas y relajarnos. Un par de semanas antes de la boda, tomamos la decisión de seguir adelante con el first look. Fue una de las mejores decisiones que tomamos!! Yo estaba hecha una bola de nervios, y lo único que quería era ver a mi futuro marido. Fue tan increíblemente especial para nosotros. Las imágenes hablan por sí mismas. La verdad es que no le quitó ni un ápice de emoción a la ceremonia y a la caminata hacia al altar. Las mariposas seguían allí.”
The bride and groom decided to do the “first look” a moment for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. They tend to be very intense and emotional moments, we just have to see how Ashley describes it, and the amazing pictures of the moment: “One of my favorite parts of the day was doing the First Look. For months before the wedding, we could not decide if a First Look was a good idea for us. I always pictured seeing my husband-to-be for the first time, standing at the alter as I walked toward him. I didn’t want to risk losing that special feeling, by seeing each other first. We did however like the idea of seeing each other for the first time, before the ceremony, since it would give us more time alone together on the day. A couple of weeks before the wedding, we made the decision to go ahead with the First Look, as long as we still felt good about that decision on the wedding day. Let me tell you, we made the right choice. I was a ball of nerves on the day and all I wanted to do was to see my husband. The First Look was so incredibly special for us. The pictures speak for themselves. Doing the First Look did not take away from the walk down the aisle one bit. The butterflies were still there.”

Mayte superó todas nuestras expectativas la decoración más bonita e impactante que jamás pudimos imaginar. Nuestro estilo de la boda fue una mezcla de estilo francés, Chic Vintage y Náutica. Me encantan todos los aspectos de estos estilos, y de alguna forma Mayte supo como juntarlos los tres”
“We chose to have our wedding ceremony at the same resort we and most of our guests were staying – Dreams Palm Beach Resort & Spa. Dreams Resorts specialize in weddings and have all kinds of wedding packages to choose from. Our wedding reception was held at a restaurant called Jellyfish on Bavaro Beach, just down the beach from our resort. Jellyfish Restaurant is a stunning venue with the most interesting architecture. The food served at Jellyfish is rated among the best in Punta Cana. There were several reasons why we decided to hold our wedding reception off-resort, at the Jellyfish, but the main reason came down to freedom of choice, a stunning venue, and a wedding that is truly unique to each couple. The Jellyfish Restaurant has a wonderfully talented wedding coordinator named Mayte. Mayte gave us the freedom to choose every detail of our wedding. For months I had been sending inspirational photos to Mayte, most of which I found through web sites like Pinterest and Style Me Pretty. Mayte exceeded every dream we had for our wedding and provided us with the most visually stunning décor I could ever imagine. Our wedding style was a mix of French country, Vintage Chic and Nautical. I love all aspects of these looks and somehow managed to incorporate all three together.”
La verdad es que la decoración de la boda, como toda la boda en si, es impresionante!!! The truth is that all the wedding decor (and all the wedding!) is gorgeous!!! 
Los novios intercambiaron unos bonitos regalos. Para él, un album con fotografías boduoir (que buena idea!), para ella un precioso reloj. The couple exchanged some nice gifts. For him, a boduoir album (what a good idea!), For her a beautiful watch.

A las futuras novias, no os perdáis los consejos de Ahsley: ” Intenta vivir cada momento, ser conscientede lo que estás viviendo. Durante la ceremonia, levanta la vista mira a tus invitados y siente todo su amor. Sé consciente de que las cosas no van a salir exactamente igual de como habías esperado, así que tomáte los imprevistos con humor!”
To the brides to be… don’t miss Ashley advices! “Be present. Be aware of your awareness. During the ceremony, be sure to glance over at your wedding guests and feel the love. Expect that things are not always going to go as planned and try and find the humor in it.”
Llegado el momento de la cena, Ashley cambió su velo por un precioso tocado de Doloris Petunia. Estaba guapísima!!! At night, Ashley changed her veil for a beautiful headdress from Doloris Petunia. She looks gorgeous!

Bueno bueno que os ha parecido esta increíble boda?? la verdad es que a mí me ha costado muchísimo escoger solo algunas fotografías, porque es una boda increíble y todas las fotografías de Katya Nova Photography son espectaculares! no he podido evitar emocionarme escribiendo este post… y que me decís de la novia? es preciosa! gracias Ashley por compartir tantos momentos conmigo, y sobre todo por permitirme publicar vuestra preciosa boda en el blog!! te adoro!
Well … what do you think about this amazing wedding?? the truth is that it was so hard to choose only a few pictures.
